‘Results Type’ refers to whether the results are an accumulation, binary, or average figures for a given condition over the chosen ‘results display period’.

The ‘results display period’ is the duration during which the displayed risk is calculated. So for daily results over a longer period, the risk and best estimate calculations are daily averages throughout the period. Where hourly data is available, start and end times can be chosen to refine the risk/prediction period for each day (when the results display period is selected as ‘daily’).

NatCat results are provided at weekly resolution, except for earthquakes, as the time of year has no known connection to earthquake probability.
