Short for ‘natural catastrophe’, this term refers to distinct weather or geological events (a.k.a. primary perils) which may have related impacts (secondary perils) such as strong winds or excessive rainfall. Currently, we offer a climatological view of risk for tropical cyclones and earthquakes (each for all relevant areas), along with tornadoes for the US. We have also launched a global predicted wildfire model, which simulates risk of an existing fire spreading to an area of 10,000 square kilometres and uses Claros as it’s predictive engine.

Data is available through the ALR platform or through MetSwift Reports. A predictive model is in development for tropical cyclones – keep your eyes peeled for news!
